Sane in the Woods

You know when you have those days when everyone is getting on your nerves?
Yeah, well, I'm having one of those days.

It's as if I'm alone in my principles.

It's times like these that I wish I:
a) had a guitar
b) knew how to play the guitar
c) had song writing skills

to write that song. You know, "Alone in My Principles."

La la la la la.
(Now I'm waiting impatiently for somebody to tell me that's kol isha).

Stay tuned for a rant.

Or not.

  1. I had exactly that sort of day yesterday! I know what you mean. And there is no kol isha involved in writing a song and singing it, as long as no males hear it.

  2. I've had a lot of those kind of days recently. As SG said, you can definitely sing as long as there are no males around. But, to add to what SG said, you can sing as long as there are no unrelated males around. "Related" in halacha is one's father, grandfather, son and grandson. There is an age at which you should stop singing in front of younger boys, but I don't know what it is. 9? 13? I don't know...

Anyway, hope the rest of your day went better!

  3. Hope you find a good way to get your emotions out and hope things get better...and soon!

  4. SternGrad - the kol isha was a joke (albeit a sarcastic, cynical, and unfunny one) referring to the "la la la la la" line. Merely typing la la la la is kol isha.
    Yeah I know.
    Not funny. :P

%Shocked% - yeah those days aren't so fun! I'm sorry that you and Stern Grad have experienced them.
B"H my night was better than the day -- thanks to pizza+fries+mike&ikes+yeshiva boys choir :D

Devorah - thanks!! There's high hope for today :)
